The ZAYLLI USB-C Tri-Mode Dual-Mic Cable does more than handle digital audio conversion. It also stores three sound modes on the device that can be switched directly.
With ZAYLLI EQ Studio, you can also choose a target curve you like, let the software automatically generate a six-band parametric EQ, and continue adjusting from there.
The complete workflow is simple:
Choose a Target → Auto Align → Inspect with Flatten → Fine-tune → Save to Device
01 / Three On-device Sound Modes

The USB-C cable stores three playback modes:
ZAYLLI
ZAYLLI’s recommended everyday tuning, designed for a balanced, natural, and complete presentation.
Quest
A moderate optimization for spatial presentation and immersion, suitable for gaming, films, video, and other content where spatial performance is important.
Flat
The original LYRÖ sound without additional digital EQ. It is also our recommended starting point when using LYRÖ MX.
After connecting the cable to a compatible device, double-press Volume + on the in-line controller to cycle through the three modes.
The Microphone item shown in the sidebar is a microphone configuration, not a fourth playback mode.
02 / Connect the Cable and Read Device Parameters

Connect the USB-C cable to a computer and open EQ Studio. The software will recognize a compatible device.
Once connected, the interface displays:
- Current product model
- Current on-device EQ
- Parameter synchronization status
- Connection type
- Maximum bit depth and sample rate
The On-device EQ section in the sidebar shows the ZAYLLI, Quest, Flat, and Microphone configurations stored on the cable. My EQ is used for saving local profiles. After signing in to a ZAYLLI account, you can also synchronize your own EQ profiles.
If you need to read the device status again, click Refresh in the upper-right corner.
Please note
My EQ and the cable’s On-device EQ are two different layers.
My EQ can be used to save and manage the version you are currently working on. The current parameters are only written to the USB-C cable after you use Save to device.
03 / Select or Add a Reference Target

Under Target curve, you can select a target curve suitable for the current product.
You can also click the “+” beside the target to add a compatible target curve and use a sound signature you like as a new basis for adjustment.
A target curve is not a standard that must be followed exactly.
It provides a reference direction. You can move closer to it, retain more bass after Auto Align, reduce part of the upper range, or continue developing your own sound preference.
04 / Auto Align: Generate a Six-band PEQ Starting Point

After selecting a reference target, click Auto Align.
EQ Studio calculates a set of parameters for the six-band parametric EQ based on the difference between the current product response and the target curve, including:
- Filter Type
- Frequency
- Gain
- Q
Once the calculation is complete, the six corresponding filter points appear on the graph, and the parameters are written into the table below.
The Target Error RMS shown in the interface indicates the overall difference between the current fitted result and the target.
A lower value generally means that the fitted result is closer to the target within the calculation range. However, it is not a sound-quality score. A lower RMS does not necessarily mean that every listener will prefer the result.
Auto Align should be treated as an efficient starting point rather than a final answer.
05 / Flatten: See Increases and Reductions Relative to the Target

Normal View is useful for observing the complete shapes of the target, response, and filters.
When Flatten is enabled, the graph switches to a target-relative view, making the target a more intuitive reference baseline.
This makes it easier to see:
- Which frequency regions are above the target
- Which frequency regions are below the target
- What the filters generated by Auto Align are increasing
- What the filters generated by Auto Align are reducing
- Whether the sound characteristics you want to keep remain after manual adjustment
Flatten only changes how the graph is displayed. It does not regenerate the EQ, change Frequency, Gain, or Q, or change the actual sound output from the cable.
Auto Align and Flatten are not consecutive sound-processing stages. Auto Align generates the parameters, while Flatten helps you understand those parameters.
06 / Continue Fine-tuning the Automatic Result

After Auto Align is complete, you can continue adjusting the result in two ways.
1. Adjust on the Graph
Drag a filter point to adjust Frequency and Gain. Place the pointer over a filter point and use the mouse wheel to adjust Q.
2. Enter Values in the Parameter Table
Each band can be edited directly:
- Type
- Frequency
- Gain
- Q
The interface also provides Undo, Redo, and Clear EQ, making it easier to compare different settings.
The Target, Response, and Filters switches only control whether the corresponding curves are visible on the graph. They do not delete any parameters.
The DAC Volume control below can be set to 0 dB, −6 dB, or −12 dB, or you can enter another supported value and click Apply.
When making relatively large positive-gain adjustments, reducing DAC Volume appropriately can provide additional headroom for the EQ.
07 / The Difference Between Adding a Target, Importing Parameters, and Saving to the Device
The current interface contains three different types of operations:
1. Add a Target
Click the “+” beside the reference target to add a compatible target curve.
2. Import and Export EQ
Import TXT is used to load a compatible parametric EQ configuration.
Export TXT saves the current PEQ parameters to your computer for backup, sharing, or later re-import.
3. Save to Device
After editing parameters, dragging filters, or using Auto Align, the Save to device · ZAYLLI button becomes available.
Clicking it writes the current parameters to the selected on-device EQ.
My EQ is suitable for saving local versions. After signing in to a ZAYLLI account, you can also synchronize personal profiles.

08 / Complete Workflow
Connect the USB-C Cable

Select the Product and On-device EQ

Choose a Built-in Reference Target, or Click “+” to Add One

Enable Flatten to View Increases and Reductions Relative to the Target

After the profile has been written, the USB-C cable performs the saved EQ on the device itself.
You can then disconnect the cable from the computer and use it with a compatible phone, tablet, computer, or other USB-C Audio device.
EQ Studio does not need to remain open during everyday use.
In-line Controls and Dual-Mic Quick Guide
Double-press Volume +: switch between ZAYLLI, Quest, and Flat.
Double-press Volume −: turn the microphone on or off.
Use the microphone selector on the rear of the in-line controller to switch between the built-in microphone and the detachable microphone.
When using the detachable microphone, make sure the connector is fully inserted and align the tips of the two triangle marks on the connector.

LYRÖ provides physical adjustment through its acoustic structure, while the USB-C Tri-Mode Cable provides on-device digital tuning. EQ Studio allows users to start from a target curve they trust and more easily generate, understand, and modify PEQ.
We do not want to bring every listener to exactly the same sonic destination.
We want the target curve to provide a starting point, Auto Align to reduce complex calculations, and Flatten to make every increase and reduction easier to understand.
